'Garden of Quilts' Will Bloom |
By CAREY HEAD News Lifestyles Editor Enjoy artistry in fabric this April when the Pioneer Area Quilt Guild presents "Pioneer Garden of Quilts," a quilt show displayed in the homes of guild members. A two-day event will showcase hundreds of quilts for inspection and appreciation. With April 16 and 17 set as the date, guild members are busy putting the finishing touches on their handmade quilts. Equally dedicated are the tour hosts as the homeowners work to get their personal spaces ready to welcome art lovers from across the region into their homes. Guild members volunteering their homes for the tour include those living at 41 Stone Ridge; 72 Stone Ridge; 61 Stone Ridge; 2625 Mockingbird; 2800 Field Crest Drive and 2613 Field Stone Trail. In addition to enjoying the tour of quilts and homes, guests will be able to shop early for Mother's Day and graduation gifts among the many offered in the "Handmade Boutique" to be located in a tour home. A second fundraising opportunity will give guests an opportunity to receive a very special quilt created by a team of guild members. Details, maps and tickets are available at Completely Quilted, 315 East Grand Avenue in Ponca City or at the guild's website, www.PAQG.blogspot.com. Be a part of this very special event on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5. All ticket sales will benefit Pioneer Area Quilt Guild's programs and activities. |
